    Holy Rummy Rules

    1. Objective: Holy Rummy is typically played to reach a predetermined point total, often 500 points. The player who first reaches or exceeds this score wins.
    2. Dealing: Each player is dealt a specific number of cards, usually 10 cards for 2 players, 7 for 3-4 players, and 6 for 5-6 players. The remaining cards form the draw pile, and the top card is placed face-up to start the discard pile.
    3. Melding: Players aim to create valid combinations of cards, which can be sets (cards of the same rank but different suits) or runs (consecutive cards of the same suit). A valid meld must consist of at least three cards.
    4. Turn Sequence: Players take turns in a clockwise order. Each turn involves drawing a card from the draw pile or the discard pile, followed by discarding a card to the discard pile.
    5. Going Out: To win a round, a player must “go out” by forming valid combinations and then discarding their final card. The other players reveal their cards, and the melded cards in their hands are counted as penalty points.
    6. Penalty Points: In Holy Rummy, high-value cards like face cards (King, Queen, Jack) and Aces carry penalty points. The objective is to minimise these points in your melded cards.
    7. Scoring: The face value of cards counts as their points. However, in some variations, number cards are worth their face value, face cards are worth 10 points, and Aces are worth 1 point.
    8. Winning a Game: The game continues with multiple rounds. The first player to reach or exceed the predetermined point total (e.g., 500 points) wins the game.
    9. Variations: Holy Rummy allows for various rule variations, including the use of wild cards, Joker cards, and unique scoring rules. It’s important to clarify any specific house rules before starting a game.
    10. End of Game: Players can choose to play for a set number of rounds or until a player reaches the winning point total, depending on their preferences.
